America's Melting Pot

When we look around today in America, we can see many different types of people.  Over time, many cultures have determined that our country is the best place to be.  The reasons of this could be due to our nation being free and the chance of them being able to receive a fresh new start in America and have more opportunities.  Through the combination of many cultures migrating to America, it has evolved America into a "melting pot".  This visual metaphor has been used for many years to describe the different people that live in our country.
However, some people disagree with immigration due to the possibility of aspects of our country being changed.  Also, the debated question is whether or not all of these immigrants are actually legal?  The problem with illegal immigrants is that it could make our nation "overcrowded" and could possibly bring over diseases.   It also makes our government unorganized when we have a large number of unidentified people, making it hard to search up citizens.  Today, a large problem we have is stopping illegal immigrants, especially from them crossing the Mexico border (as clearly shown in Ch. 15).  Throughout chapter 15, images are shown that show the struggles and dangers that these illegal immigrants go through in order to cross the border.
Overall, immigration is a good thing, helping us understand other cultures and improving our international communications.  Immigration just needs to be controlled in order to prevent chaos and potential dangers.
